Philly Fellows Seeks New Host Agencies For 2013-2014 Fellowships

For your information, from The Philadelphia Foundation:
Philly Fellows Seeks
New Host Agencies
For 2013-2014 Fellowships

Philly Fellows is now seeking new host agencies for its 2013-2014 fellowships.  Interested non-profits must submit a Reply Form outlining their potential projects to Philly Fellows staff by Friday, October 12.

Fellows serve in full-time capacity-building positions in dynamic Philadelphia nonprofits.  By hosting a fellow, partner agencies are able to launch new programs and initiatives that enable them to do more to carry out their mission.  In addition to strengthening host agencies and the communities they serve, the program helps to cultivate the next generation of civic leaders.

As one agency partner recently put it: "The Philly Fellow provides an excellent source of support for our small nonprofit. The fellows are always smart, well-prepared, and able to hit the ground running with projects and assisting with office operations. Additionally, the fellows understand their role in a year of service, and are therefore very eager to make a positive impact not only on the organization but the community it serves!"

Fellows are selected from a highly competitive pool of graduating college seniors, each of whom come into the fellowship with significant service and leadership experience. For 2012-2013, Fellows received 123 applications for 15 fellowship slots. Thanks to this competitiveness, candidates who are selected for the fellowship have outstanding academic records, excellent communication skills, significant service and leadership experience and the ability to make an immediate impact at their host agencies.

Projects are supported by a partnership with AmeriCorps*VISTA.
