This position is primarily responsible for securing annual unrestricted gifts through the Corporate Partners program, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of approximately $1.2 million in corporate membership contributions. The Director of Corporate Relations also solicits corporate grants and corporate sponsorships for exhibitions, education programs, special projects and museum events. Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating relationships with current and prospective corporate restricted and unrestricted donors locally and nationally; implementing responsive fundraising strategies throughout the fiscal year; executing strategic sponsorship approaches to corporations; supporting corporate solicitations by trustees, volunteers and senior staff; and writing corporate communications. The Director of Corporate Relations is the primary liaison to the Museum’s Corporate Executive Board, a volunteer board of business leaders charged with ensuring the stability and growth of the Museum’s corporate giving program. This is a unique opportunity for a development professional to increase the Museum’s corporate support as the Museum prepares for its upcoming capital campaign.

Agency Name

Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention

Description

Youth and gang violence affects communities—urban, suburban, and rural— across the entire United States. Young people can be perpetrators, victims, or witnesses to violence. Some violent acts, such as bullying, can cause as much emotional harm as physical harm. Other acts, such as assault, with or without weapons, can lead to serious injury or death. At the direction of President Obama, the Departments of Justice and Education launched the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention (Forum) to begin a national conversation concerning youth and gang violence, raise awareness, and elevate the issue to national significance. The project that this solicitation supports seeks to competitively select as many as four new sites to join the Forum’s participating localities of Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, Salinas, and San Jose. The FY 2012 National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention Expansion Project is authorized by the Department of Justice Authorization Act, 2012, Pub. L. No. 112-55, 125 Stat. 552, 617.

Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge

Description

This FFO announces the availability of funding for the Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge (Advanced Manufacturing Jobs Accelerator). Under this FFO, regional partnerships across the nation can compete to access complementary Federal resources to support advanced manufacturing activities in order to drive high potential industry clusters. The Advanced Manufacturing Jobs Accelerator is designed to foster job creation, increase public and private investments, and enhance economic prosperity by harnessing the economic growth and job creation potential resulting from advanced manufacturing activities within high-growth industry clusters that have been identified by regional stakeholders. This initiative is designed to leverage existing financial and technical resources from five distinct Federal agencies through awards to approximately 12 projects that will be selected through competitive multi-agency grants. The participating funding agencies anticipate providing approximately $26 million in Federal support for the Advanced Manufacturing Jobs Accelerator that will be used to fund approximately 12 new awards, each with a project period of up to three years. The funding level of each participating Federal Agency will vary, subject to the availability of their respective appropriations. The funding agencies and programs are: The U.S. Department of Commerce’s (DOC) Economic Development Administration (EDA); The DOC’s National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP); The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO); The Department of Labor’s (DOL) Employment and Training Administration (ETA); and, The Small Business Administration (SBA). This collaboration allows applicants to submit one application to leverage multiple complementary Federal funding sources to comprehensively promote advanced manufacturing activities and support cluster development. In addition, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is making funds available for existing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grantees (Phase II only) that are part of or central to awarded projects.
