The Museum is currently seeking an energetic and experienced individual to manage and expand corporate support for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This position is primarily responsible for securing annual unrestricted gifts through the Corporate Partners program, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of approximately $1.2 million in corporate membership contributions. The Director of Corporate Relations also solicits corporate grants and corporate sponsorships for exhibitions, education programs, special projects and museum events. Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating relationships with current and prospective corporate restricted and unrestricted donors locally and nationally; implementing responsive fundraising strategies throughout the fiscal year; executing strategic sponsorship approaches to corporations; supporting corporate solicitations by trustees, volunteers and senior staff; and writing corporate communications. The Director of Corporate Relations is the primary liaison to the Museum’s Corporate Executive Board, a volunteer board of business leaders charged with ensuring the stability and growth of the Museum’s corporate giving program. This is a unique opportunity for a development professional to increase the Museum’s corporate support as the Museum prepares for its upcoming capital campaign.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree with arts or English major; a Master’s degree preferred. Minimum five years of progressive fundraising experience including direct solicitation and interaction with the regional business community. Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and demonstrated flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities is a must. Candidate must demonstrate exceptional written ability and strong presentation, communication and organizational skills. A high degree of creativity, energy, and initiative is essential. A track record of, or aptitude for, achieving financial goals is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Adobe Acrobat, and Photoshop is an advantage. The Major Gifts Assistant works closely with and provides administrative support for the Major Gifts Program, including the Director of Major Gifts. The ideal candidate should be energetic and responsible with a strong interest in fundraising, major gifts, and special events. He/she will be highly organized and detail-oriented, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, practice discretion in handling confidential donor information, and effectively prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.

In this role, he/she will support the Director of Major Gifts, and two to three Major Gifts Officers. To assist these individuals, the Major Gifts Assistant/Associate will assist specific Major Gift Officers who serve as liaison to various curatorial departments, interact with the Special Exhibitions and other departments as needed, and help implement individual fundraising initiatives related to Museum priorities. On a daily basis, the Major Gifts Assistant/Associate provides administrative support to the Major Gifts team, helping to coordinate both internal and external communications and ensuring all activity is recorded in the database and reports are distributed in a timely fashion. In addition, the Major Gifts Assistant/Associate helps plan events, and prepare proposals, contact reports, preparatory materials, research and correspondence.

Proficiency with Word, Access, Excel and database functions (preferably Raiser’s Edge) is required. Some evening and weekend hours are necessary in this position. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and two years’ non-profit/fundraising experience.
